BodyShort, massive, and thick set. shoulders and chest should be broad and well filled, shoulders deep with depth exhibited when ideally posed hind quarters equal or greater depth than shoulders. shoulders should be equal but not exceed width of hind quaters. heavily muscled compact, well balanced length width and depth (small dewlap permitted on does only)
Body Faults- lacking depth through upper body. long narrow shoulders. chopped, pinched, or undercut hind quarters. flatness over hips. large dewlap in does. cut severly or narrow body. Head[view from front] head needs good width. begins at base of ears, carries down between eyes to an extremely short well filled muzzle. [view from side]head is round from base of ears to sligth flattening between muzzle and continues to round from lower portion of muzzle to neck. eyes bold and deep set. head to be massive set and high, close to shoulders. head and body are to be porpotionate.
Head Faults- pinched muzzle, narrowness between eyes, head to small or cut severly,narrow or long head Earsears should lop vertically on both sides of head from strongly defined crown. ears should hang no longer than 1 inch below the jawline, hang just behind the eyes and close to cheeks with openings turned toward the head. jawline length and width should be balanced with head [viewed from front] ears and crown should resemble a horse shoe shape. ears should be thick , well furred. wide and well rounded at tips.
Ear Faults- pointed, narrow, thin, folded, poor ear carriage or placement, ear length that doesnt balance with siize of animal |
Bone, Feet, and Legslegs to be short and thick, straight and heavily boned from size of animal. white toe nails prefered on broken patterned. broken patterend disqualified for mismatched toe nails.
Bone, Feet, and Legs Faults- colored or mismatched toe nails on broken patterns. cut severly for long legs, narrow legs, or fine bone Furglossy. dense. fine in texture. uniform in length. fur is approx. 1 inch in length. gradually rolls back into normal position when stroked from hind quarters to shoulders
Fur Faults- disqualifications for toe nails Color and Markingscolors should conform to the recognized HLC guide. solid pattern classification includes recognized colors within recognized groups. Broken pattern includes all combinations with white
Disqualifications From Competitionbroken pattern complete absense of color on one or both ears absence of color around one or both eyes. Eye color other than specified in color descriptions
